Overtreders W is a spatial design studio, established by Reinder Bakker and Hester van Dijk in 2006. Overtreders W has developed design projects for theatre festivals, exhibitions and cafes, often incorporating multi-purpose, modular components and recycled materials.
In 2009 the studio worked with Het Wilde Westen and artist Marjetica Potrč on ‘The cook, the farmer, his wife and their neighbour’ in the suburb of New West in Amsterdam. This project involved transforming a former butcher’s shop into a kitchen space where produce from a local community garden could be prepared and served.
For ‘The woods that see and hear’ exhibition, Overtreders W is developing a new project that responds to the changing rural landscape in the south of the Netherlands. The intention is to re-erect an icon of the Brabant landscape, the barn, and give it a new function: as a hospitality space for visitors to dertien hectare.
